Meet Ashley - Manager & Customer Support
When Ashley first started, she was hired as Customer Service. However, it didn’t take long, before we knew that Ashley needed to be promoted. Because of her hard work and the way she cares for & helps out our customers, Ashley is now the Business Manager & our Customer Support Manager. That means that when you call or come into our store, there’s a high chance that Ashley will be there to help you out! From the very moment you start speaking with Ashley, we feel very positive that you will realize, that you’re in great care. Meet Chris - Sales Manager & Customer Support
Chris started from the bottom & worked his way up to the top. As a young man, he came in to help out the company for a few hours only. What was supposed to be $20 in pay, to hand wash some really dirty wood blinds, turned Chris into becoming a full-time employee, because of his hard work. Since that day, Chris has come a long way. He not only is a great person, but he’s also very honest & he truly cares about all of our customers. Chris is now a partner of the business, our Sales Manager, and A LOT more. Whatever our customers need... Chris is always there to help out! We are positive that you will have a great experience, working with Chris. Today we’d like to introduce you to Janice Lovitt. (Owner of Lovitt Blinds & Drapery)
Janice, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
In 2004 my husband (Jim) was in a fatal car accident due to a drunk driver. He was 100% blind at that time, due to the accident. After a lot of surgeries, he started getting his vision back in his left eye. (He will always be blind in his right eye) Then one day, he was on Google & googled “what to do when you go blind?” Then Google search popped up & said “Do you mean: how do you clean blinds?” That was the beginning of a brand new business! Now my husband works for the business too & he is “The Blind Guy.” (Pun intended)
In 2007 I opened the business & now we are celebrating our 15 year anniversary this year! For the past 15+ years, I’ve been working a lot of long hours each week, raising 2 beautiful & smart kids & helping my husband with his very long-term recovery. (He has had over 30 surgeries and he needs more to come.)
Due to the type of business that we are, there are A LOT of people all over the Chicagoland areas that do NOT know that there is a company that exists & does what we do, so it’s always hard to educate Chicago & Chicagoland area that we can help them save money & save their blinds & drapery! Blind & drapery cleaning is a lot less money, VS. buying NEW blinds & drapery. Plus repairing blinds & window shades ONLY cost a fraction of the price VS. buying NEW window treatments. Our company saves people a lot of money & we help save the landfills from getting more garbage. There is NO need to have to replace your “old & broken” window treatments anymore….We can save them & save everyone money while doing so! Every day of the week, we are told over & over again that we are a “hidden gem” & our customers say “I wish I would’ve known about you guys a lot sooner!”
